The 2009 Ft. Wayne Showdown 3 Day Danc-A-ThoN continues its tradition as being one of the best dance weekends.
Join us at our new location, the Grand Wayne Center adjoined to the beautiful Hilton (only $99 (s/d) Showdown room block rate), for hours of workshops instructed by our remarkable staff.
Lots of nightly open dancing in 3 Ballrooms with DJs Jill Babinec (Main Ballroom), Alice Daugherty & Tim Hand (All Requests) and Dan Keck (Swing). Best of all…“no stairs or “shuttles”! Ballrooms and Bedrooms in the same location!
Your weekend pass of only $80 includes all workshops (Line, Couples, Pattern Partner, Clogging, Lindy, Salsa, Meringue, NTA courses, plus the opportunity to take the High-Tech DJ, Dancing To Your Computer seminar), nightly dances and Saturday’s special show.
Make plans to arrive early for Thursday’s activities! New for 2009 are line workshop demos beginning at 8:00 pm. Demos will not interrupt open dancing in the Welcoming Party ballrooms (Line/Couples and Swing). (Thursday’s activities are $15).
This year’s production, “The Dance Academy Awards Show”, is on Saturday evening (Dress to impress, but not required). Your fabulous staff will “dance the red carpet” with hilarious interviews, special awards and performances.
The Choreography Competition, with cash prizes, is being held on Friday at 5:00, so get those creative thoughts down on paper.
Returning in 2009 is the Jack & Jill Swing Competition on Saturday evening with 100% payback. (All competitors must purchase weekend pass.)
There’s lots of new vendors expected for 2009 in addition to the return of the Silent Auction (This year’s celebrity guitar is signed by John Michael Montgomery.)
How many times have you had to select a class, only to miss another one you wanted to take? “Sunday’s Seconds” offers repeat teaches of favorite workshops from Friday and Saturday.
There’s something for everyone, so register today!
